welcome to Hawaii I just got back from American Samoa and I met a man who had wisdom about life and living that I want to apply to presenting the advice was simple sometimes things are going great as he put it things are good and he feels good about that he’s on track because good is part of life but sometimes things go bad and when things go bad he feels good about that and on track because bad is also part of life you get both and your job is to feel good about both because it is part of the Journey of life that we’re on I want to relate that to presenting when you present sometimes things are going swimmingly well your confidence is spiked up high you feel great about your material you say the right things and sometimes that doesn’t happen or you’ll have moments where you get Tongue Tied you say the wrong word you forget a piece of content you lose your place something doesn’t work or land right with the audience here’s the thing about presenting when things are going well that’s good and that’s part of presenting and when things are going poorly that is part of presenting and the power of a speaker is to embrace both sides to enjoy and have fun with the experience they’re presenting when it’s going well or when it’s it’s not because it’s all part of presenting
