what does it mean to advocate for yourself when you advocate for yourself you know what you’re worth you understand the value that you have to offer you understand who you help who you make a difference for and you understand how your value impacts the people that you help you understand the difference that your value makes now it’s incredibly valuable for an individual to know how to advocate for themselves imagine compounding this imagine the value for an organization having everyone in the organization know how to be an advocate for that organization if they knew who their firm was specifically for if they had the language to communicate exactly what The Firm actually does for their clients what difference they make imagine that for your firm as a leader of a professional service firm I think you want that I think you want everyone in your firm to be able to advocate for you not to be pushy not to Blow Your Horn not to be arrogant about the difference that you make but to advocate for the value because every single one of them at some point in their careers at some point in their day probably many points of their day it would be appropriate for them to talk about the kind of difference that you and your firm makes and it doesn’t need to end there I think you want your people to be able to advocate for your firm for themselves for their individual value for the value of their IDE ideas whenever they’re interacting with prospects clients Partners I think you want them able to communicate all of that whenever the circumstances line up and I think you want them to be able to recognize what those circumstances are and the fact that those circumstances have lined up that it’s appropriate for them to speak up if every member of your team had that simple ability I think the visibility of your firm the awareness of your firm would Skyrocket
