Maximizing the Value of Every Meeting
Hey everyone—Pete here. Let’s do a little thought experiment together.
I’d like you to imagine every time your team has a meeting—whether it’s internal, with clients, or with project partners—and at the end, everyone walks away thinking, “Man, I don’t know what the point of that was.”
When Communication Misses the Mark
Now narrow it down further. Think about when one of your team members gives a presentation, and afterward, the audience leaves wondering, “So what? What was I supposed to get out of that?”
My hunch is this happens more often than most leaders realize. And every time it does, it wastes time—not just for the audience, but for the presenter and everyone who helped prepare. All that effort, energy, and potential impact… gone, because there wasn’t a clear intention behind the communication.
Flipping the Script
Now imagine the opposite. Every single person leaves a meeting, presentation, or conversation knowing exactly what just happened and exactly what to do next. Every moment invested is meaningful. Every voice is heard. Every participant walks away clear and motivated. That’s what happens when communication is intentional and presence is strong.
Where Is Your Team on the Spectrum?
For most organizations, the truth lies somewhere between those two extremes. You’re probably not wasting every moment—but you’re probably not maximizing every one either. So where do you think your team sits on that spectrum?
If you notice that meetings sometimes drift, or presentations fail to land, or prospects and clients walk away uncertain about your value—then there’s opportunity. Opportunity to elevate your team’s ability to communicate with clarity, confidence, and presence.
Investing in Better Communication
High-quality presentation and communication skill building helps your team connect their ideas to outcomes. It helps them express the “so what” behind your firm’s work—so clients understand not just what you do, but why it matters.
When your team masters the ability to lead meetings with purpose, present ideas with conviction, and listen with empathy, you’ll see stronger collaboration, more buy-in, and better results.
That’s the power of intentional communication—and that’s where better work begins.
