Don’t Turn Your Inspiration Into Information

Many people take perfectly good presentations, and downgrade their powerful content in the delivery, consequently transforming potentially inspiring content into information. This vlog makes a case for aliveness: utilizing passion and boldness in communication is the key to your inspiring message.

Don’t Turn Inspiration Into Information

Hey everyone—Dean here. When it comes to winning people over—whether you’re presenting as a CEO, leading a project pitch, or standing with your team in a shortlist interview—remember this: don’t turn your inspiration into information.

You’re not there to simply share data. Information is for pamphlets. Presentations are about personality, presence, and connection. They require energy, emotion, and authenticity. Too many times, I’ve seen presenters with powerful ideas hold back. They have great content—but they deliver it like a report instead of a message that moves people.

Bring Your Message to Life

When you speak with passion and confidence, your audience feels it. It’s not just about the words—it’s about the energy behind them. Compare these two examples:

  • “I think that passion and strong, bold communicating is really important to making your point.” — delivered with life, energy, and movement.
  • “It’s really important for us to put our passion and our inspiration behind our messages.” — same words, but flat delivery.

See the difference? The first has presence. The second has information. We need the first one.

Presentation Is Physical

Presenting happens through your mouth, your eyes, your posture, your gestures. It’s in the way you lean in, make eye contact, and engage with your audience. That’s what makes your message come alive. Without that aliveness, you take potentially inspiring, motivating content—and flatten it into information.

Turn Information Into Inspiration

Let’s flip the script. Don’t let inspiration become information—turn information into inspiration. Feel your words. Believe your message. Use your voice, your face, your body, your energy—everything you’ve got—to make a real impression on your audience.

Because when you’re alive in your delivery, your audience comes alive too.
